The tensions between Catholics and Protestants are still relevant today as it emphasises how religion can deeply divide areas most notably in the Middle East. I chose this particular question because this particular time, which saw struggles between the King and Parliament as well as between Catholics and Protestants, directly caused the Glorious Revolution of 1688 which in turn defined the future of British politics and role of the monarch.
